If you read this, if your eyes are passing over this right now (even if we don't speak often or ever) please post a comment with a completely made up, fictional memory of you and me.

It can be anything you want - good or bad - but it has to be fake.

When you're finished, post this little paragraph in your LJ and see what your friends come up with.

In which I try to get this baby to do something useful

I had an odd idea over at [info]ksleet's place, which he happened to like, and I didn't feel like trying to take over his comment threads to work on it.

Basically, what would be really great, from all the people who read this blog and don't comment (besides Jon, who's kind of a given) is if I could have some help coming up with an astrology system that's simple, and mainly deals with interacting with the environment.

So come out of the woodwork!  It's not that hard!

If I use your idea, you get to be a coauthor!  Internet fame, people.  Internet fame.

I laugh at advice that involves writing passwords down...

My memory is as a flawless gem!

Who am I, again?

I'm the ultimate niche market ;_;

It seems I'm the only person who can understand my writing.

As in, it makes perfect sense to me, but is utterly opaque to anybody else.

This wouldn't be much of a problem if I weren't, I don't know, planning to eventually release or publish this stuff.

As it is, I need to work out some way to clarify my writing without sacrificing my voice.  Wish me luck, internet.

I had an interesting thought over the past few days.

As demonstrated by Spore, it's possible to figure out how a particular body "should" move.  In Spore, this is used to allow a multitude of fantastical creatures to exist, but supposing the same general methods were optimized for generally human bodies, but perhaps with some modifications.  The precise details of a familiar movement are handled in the cerebellum, but, if there is some prosthetic not connected to the cerebellum, either due to nerve damage or body art, it would be less invasive than patching it in, to use algorithms of that sort to complement the cerebellum's action.  Add in stuff like a zeroconf network carried by the skin, and body function could be quickly augmented without the need to operate or train.

I'm not sure if this would actually work, and it would involve the combination of several technologies that I haven't seen in market (in addition to the stuff I mentioned up there, I'm thinking sensory input would have to be delivered via headband or through some such system), but...

PS I mention this in the context of helping amputees walk and possibly even use arms again, but, to be frank, I actually thought of it in the context of giving people ornamental wings that they could control via unconscious body movements.

I am nothing if not committed to honesty.

Dear word processing applications...

Regarding lists:

Don't call me, I'll call you.

Maybe.

In a year or two.

You presumptive fuckers.

PS Guess who's trying to do his math homework in Pages?

Preliminaries

Hi, I'm Max, known by various nicknames I'd rather not divulge, and I probably won't be updating that often.

I'll update my profile etc. sometime.

Maybe.

If I feel like it.

I am nothing if not committed to honesty.

Random stuff you don't care about

Wow.

I just got spam that claimed to come from my email address.

Classy.
